It was time to leave Scandinavia, though there's plenty we didn't get to see in the area. Summer is short, and it isn't always warm. It was hard to say goodbye, but boats are meant for moving, and we spent the season moving on.
In 2010, we traveled across the United Kingdom and ended up at season's end on the southern coast of England.
The trip began near the Hallberg-Rassy boatyard, and we crossed the Skagerrak to the southeast coast of Norway. We traveled around the coast until we were on the southwest side, and crossed overnight to the Shetland Islands of Scotland.
The rest of the summer was a coastal amble across the Caledonia Canal and down the eastern coast of Northern Ireland and Ireland. By late summer, we arrived at the south coast of England, and left the boat for the winter in the coastal town of Lymington.
