Art's the undisputed captain of Second Wind. It's his seventh boat in a time span of four decades. He plans our itineraries and all the entry requirements, manages the library of charts and cruising guides, maintains the vessel's many systems and electronics and does more than a person's share of household maintenance.

Karen's boat responsibilities are mostly on the software side, literally and figuratively. She writes the boat applications for inventory and maintenance, manages the touring, keeps a detailed journal, updates the web site, and cooks up a storm onboard. We both think we get the better deal.
